I went out to my local track last night and they had put down 80 feet of new concrete last week. The first couple of passes were a little hairy on the new surface. As the night went on and rubber was getting on the new surface the track was coming around. I was within .01 60' and .02 1/8 of where I was at on 3 different tracks this year in similar air on a green surface. If you get a chance come on out Mark is really trying to make things better for the racer.

I had a couple of different racers tell me in the staging lanes last week that Mark was adding some new concrete...but i had no idea it was gonna be so soon.Mark is definitely trying hard to make that a nice race track...

I think it's just an 1/8 mile track. it's not too far from where I live in Marysville, but I'm not ready to go bracket racing with my truck, especially against guys who know what they're doing. I'd like to go for some test and tune friday nights, but now that I'm working 2nd shift, I don't get off work until midnight friday night.

MCIR is a 1/4 mile track, although they run some programs 1/8th mile only.

The new concrete is great, but how is the transition at the end of the concrete?

.....MCIR is a 1/4 mile track but they are running 1/8 in thier regular weekly program for the pro(box) and modified(no box) classess, street cars are still running 1/4...a couple of weeks ago when the UMTR was there they ran 1/4 ...but some of them weren't real happy about the condition of the top end..i saw a couple of those cars running over 150mph,which at the end of that track had to be alittle touchy to say the least.. ...as far as the transition from the new concrete..i missed this week(graduation party) but i talked to a few buddies that raced and they had no issue with it..however they did say that a few of the faster cars were spinning once the hit the new concrete as Jack described.
