I will be needing to remove the stock bellhousing dowels in my 440 and I would like to know what is the easiest way to get those suckers out of there?

I used vice grips. Don't know if there's a better way, but it worked for me.

Mine were stuck pretty good so I drilled and tapped 'em and stck a lugnut and washer over 'em and threaded a bolt in to pull 'em out. Worked like a charm

That does work , the dowel is soft enough to be drilled and tapped , the correct way is with a dowel pin puller but they aren't cheap to buy . I did the same thing pulling head dowels

A dowel pin puller is the easiest way to do it.

If you are not re using them and can weld, just weld a nut on to them and you can work them out easily. Spray some wd 40 right after you weld them, it usually penetrates well.

Try vise grips (REAL tight just in case) or some big channel locks and some heat around the hole area, again just in case.

I ended up drilling mine out.gotta be careful that you drill on center though, and don't cut into the block at all. I think they are a 1/2" hole? I went with a drill bit that was just smaller than the dowels. as I got into the dowel, it gave up it's "outward push" against the block, and came right out.

I tried heat and vice grips - just stripped the dowels to shreds

Then I drilled a pilot hole and welded a piece of all-thread on to the dowel. Made a puller from a piece of angle iron, two bolts, and three nuts. Both dowels pulled out in less than 2 minutes.
