Anyone else have issue's with the heavy duty (80's truck I think??) tailshaft housing clearance issue in a 440-727 a-body??? The housing is one of those with the extra ribs on the sides. It will not clear the tunnel in my 68 cuda??

The newer tailshafts with the clip that is on the side will not clear the trans tunnel without modification, the older ones with the clip on the bottom, clear just fine.

Is this a "A-body" deal only? I am not overly excited about hammer clearancing the tunnel. I did sleep for weeks after the fender-well headers "fit" right.

Tunnels on 60's B bodies can be a little tight too but unless it is a super rare, high dollar car what's the big deal massaging some sheetmetal , it can be fixed. I don't know why they moved the snap ring access window but they did and in a truck which is what it is used in it is not an issue ...

My shifter is mounted to the tunnel in my "A-Body"
if I beat on it the shifter will be at 45 deg. angle. Yuk!!! Why beat on something when you can something "right" and not cut or beat something all to heck. "Something Rare"...... I think 1968 Fastback Barracuda's stopped rolling off the line sometime ago??? I like nice stuff... not with hammer marks all over them.
