Hi...
Was ready too shoot for the first start....

Fit a 904 (from an '85 5th Ave)tranny behind a 5.9l Magnum, the starter from my original won fit as the ring gear is too close to the bendix and does not engage, tried a starter from a 5.9l and does not fit roght on the tranny ?
What can I try to have this motor runnig ????

Pleaaaaaaaaaase !!

Daniel

hmm...afaik all V8 chrysler starters physically bolt up and are interchangeable, from the early bigblocks on up through the magnums....might be some connector differences or clearance issues with exhaust manifolds, but there shouldn't be any reason an '85 5th ave starter won't bolt on to a 904/360 mag combo, or a mag starter won't bolt to the '85 904...

just like I posted in the other starter post...my 3.9L V6 (small block pattern) starter fit into my lakewood bell on the big block/TKO combo, and it works flawlessly.

so there shouldn't be any clearance issues with your starter gear...got pictures?

OK had to enlarge the stud hole of the starter (95 mag truck model)for a near perfect fit, but noe th engine revs and wil be able to fire tomorrow, but my 67 starter really does not fit
