I'm finally getting my 527 dyno tested and tuned this week, it is a 440 block bored to 4.380, 4.375 lightweight stroker cankshaft(65 lbs.) Mopar rod journals, Manley 6.96 long H beam rods, Ross flat top pistons with 4.1 CC valve reliefs in at .007 down with a .039 Fel Pro head gasket. Indy SR heads with Max. wedge port sizes, 76.6 CC on # 1. Mechanical compression ratio off of Silvolite web site says 11.10 to 1 comp. ratio I thought it was going to be higher Next time Back to business, the cam is a custom grind Comp Cams solid roller with 275 duration on the intake at .050, .439 lobe lift, exhaust is 282 @.050 with .440 lobe lift,110 LSA in at 108. Jesel belt drive, T@D roller rockers with 1.65 ratio. Charlei oil pan with kick out and home made crankshaft windage scraper, milidon dual line swinging external system, lifter bores bushed, all the usual gfood stuff. First day of dyno testing was with a 440-3 late style clover leaf plenum intake and three different Holley 1050 Dominators, one 9375HP and two 9375 non HP all with stock jetting and atwo inch clover elaf phenloic spacer. Peak power was between 5900 RPM and 6400 RPM, a local north west brand of 110 octane race gas was used all day and again for tomorrow. I plan on installing a Indy tunnel ram with the two 9375 non hp carbs. tomorrow to see how much power there is in them, maybe the Indy 440-2 with a adapter also, hopefully time permitting and ambitusion(SP?) staying I'll post today and tomorrows results tomorrow evening when I get home. Quicktree, Dram, this is on our local "happy" Stuska dyno Hint, it made more than 1.5 HP per C.I. I'm very happy with the results so far Update, 852 HP at 6400 RPM with the 440-3 intake and Summit phenolic spacer. There was around seven HP and a small amount of torque loss between one of the 9375 non HP dominators and the other 9375 non HP and the 9375 HP. In other words one of the non HP made the same amount of power as the 9375 HP and the other 9375 lost some power, not enough to worry about for me I'll post todays results on my reply to the last post on here today

is jetting perfect out of the box on all these carbs?
what rpm is the pull starting at? what is the AF like across the whole range. post some sheets
where is timing at?
offset rockers or standard?

860hp.
Real close, 850 HP at 5900 RPM on one pull and 852 at 6400 RPM on the next pull
Right on . I enjoy watching your builds. Theres a lot for us dyno wannabees to learn... But you should know by now from reading around here that your 440 block is going to snap in half at 900 hp.

the rockers are a set of T&D that where suppose to be for the SR heads, it looks like the intake are offset like the ones for the 440-1 but the roller tips fit right on the valve stems so The jetting on all four carbs is not perfect, I set them up with the stock jetting from Holley. I have a dual wide ban FAST hooked up to the dyno but I can't seem to get any luck with this unit I can't get the RPM to synchronise no matter what and one side wants to not read accuretly some times The ignition timing is set at 35, I have not treid it in any other location yet, still trying to get a base line on the carbs and the three different intakes we set the pulls up to be from 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm on the frst three or four break in pulls and then raise the upper RPMs to 6800 RPMs. As far as posting sheets that is something that is not in my skill level or pay grade yet Maybe soon but not today, you know us old guys learn slow on some things

That compression is 12.7:1 with your figures. Brian

Thanks for letting me know your calculations, I went back to United Machine(KB % Silvalite) site and dug out my blue print sheet and realised that I had put the piston deck hieght down incorrectly the piston on #1 is .007 above the deck so using the United calculator with those numbers comes up to 13.169 and using the figures of .0025 above deck hieght and 77.2 cc for the numder 2 cylinder on the Wallace calculator comes up with 12.87. Wallaces site must need + to indicate below deck and - for above deck hieghts Either way my motor is not a pump gas 11.0 to 1 compression motor like I was beginning to think . Now, if I can just figure out why the tunnel ram set up didn't work What are your thoughts on that(read new post on dyno results for reference on tunnel ram

Cab, do you have the bsfc #'s from the tunnel ram dyno test? I've seen TR setups go real rich starting around 5500rpm and continue until power just diminishes. Usually the nozzle size of the carbs being used is all wrong. Brian
