This is all thats left of my shop, the concrete work
is scheduled for next week(break up), then the new
concrete should be done in a week or 2 from that. I
have the new building being delivered on 6/26... but
I might move that back till 7/11... depending on my
concrete guy

What happened to your shop? Looks like the Mopar Pro Stock boys came over and had a nitrous explosion or something.

Good deal Mr. P on the new shop.

I hope this was just an upgrade and not a fire or something.

Don't forget to put a bathroom in the new one.

We have built several houses and shops, and you will be back up to speed in no time.

Nice pics of your pile of crap!

My wife thought I was nuts when I took pics of a giant pile of stucco that we ripped off my house.

LOL, naaa I demo'd this one the other day for my new
one

what did it look like before?

I'll see if I have any pics of the old piece of DO-Do.
I was never happy with the old one, the ceiling was
way to low, the concrete was cracked and heaved so
I had a hard time rolling engines and my welders
around plus it was just too small. Its still not as
big as I would have liked but city hall wouldnt let
me go as big as I REALLY wanted... but the new one
will be 1080 sq ft, heated floor, 12 ft walls all
insulated everywhere
Heres one pic and my tractor that I used to knock
it down with

Yea, when I saw the topic line, I thought it caught fire or got blown down! lol

One of these days I'll have a bigger "shop/garage" than I have now. It won't have 4 tires and will be bigger than 26'x8.5'.

No, I got a local place for it... they were well under
all the other quotes I got. I'm going with a 5" slab
for the hot water heat

I think I see the end of a new W-5 head sticking out.

I'm glad you got the green light for Mike Rafferty Motorsports' shop.

You're gonna love the floor heat come winter. Are you using a gas fired or electric boiler for the heat?

I demo'd my mothers garage with a sledgehammer and it looked just like that when done. It was kinda fun. It filled a dumpster just like that.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Did you have a tear in your eye when it all came tumbling down,,,,or were you laughing and smiling the whole time?

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

Think you'll need the forced air as well? My shop is 900 square feet with a 15 Kilowatt electric boiler for the floor heat and it keeps it shirt sleeve warm in there all winter. Up here we can go for several weeks at -30 to -40 outside temps.

Rich, I know its too small already but I had to fight
for every square inch that I got..... rules suck
and playing with city hall is just as bad

I heard he was yelling through a megaphone like Ty Pennington when he was tearing it down

I must have been yelling at myself because I'm the
only person here doing it .... but I think
I did hear myself yelling (to myself) every once in
a while when it wasnt going right

Congrats on the new shop! If you plan on a lift the slab needs to be 6 inches. I did mine 4 inches for 30 feet of width and 6 inches for 14 feet of width for my lift.

I got a couple of quotes for busting up the old concrete
and by the time I rent a jack hammer and haul it off
it was $100 difference..... its not worth my time
for that price

Congrats Raff!

I know you've been waiting a long time for this new shop. That heated floor is going to be the cats behind.

I'll say! I worked at a place that had floor heat laying under a scraper or dozer and feeling that warmth was great.
Wish I would've done it in the shop I built years ago. After my broken back vert. laying under a car to pull trans or whatever I get up and feel very stiff. Don

You're gonna love the floor heat come winter. Are you using a gas fired or electric boiler for the heat?

I'll say! I worked at a place that had floor heat laying under a scraper or dozer and feeling that warmth was great.
Wish I would've done it in the shop I built years ago. After my broken back vert. laying under a car to pull trans or whatever I get up and feel very stiff. Don

I wont be laying on the slab anymore... I'm putting
in a hoist but I know what your talking about laying
on a cold slab

This is about the best pic I have of the old building
this was moving my mill. I finished loading it into
2 30yd dumpster today.... and a little burning to
finish off the pile of debris. For some reason I'm
not big on taking pics... if it wasnt for the wife
I wouldnt have any pics of the old shop
