Car – 97 Sebring ‘vert 2.5 H motor
Trans was re-manufactured 2 years / 44K miles ago.
Warranty is 1 year 24K miles.
Driving home from work I attempted to accelerate to merge into traffic, the RPM’s shot waaaay up, and then the trans engaged. Knew it wasn’t a good sign, tried to find a spot to get off the GSP. Trans continued to deteriorate until I rolled into a rest area after a mile or so.
Trailered home and stuffed it into the garage. Finally got it torn down and found one of the mounting lugs for the torque converter had broken off, pumping all the fluid out of the trans.
The questions are –
Should I try to pursue warranty?
Is there any way to determine how much damage was done?
Do I just slam a converter in it?
Just looking for opinions and guidance

can try to pursue warranty but I dont think you will get anywhere lets face it was done 2 years ago and it had a 1 year warranty. No way to know how much damage was done without taking it apart you could try just putting a converter in it and see but thats a lot of work that may be for nothing.
