Would anyone happen to know if Poly 318 freeze plugs would be the same as the typical "la" or big block mopars

They should be. I got a freeze plug set a few years back and they listed A-318 and LA 273-318-340-360 on the bag...

Most of the early blocks used a flat dish type plug instead of the ones with the lips like the new ones.If you are careful they will go in.Rocky
