Unless it has a Hemi it should use a Saginaw.

340s and HEMIs used the Federal
383s and 440s used the Saginaw

My 318 had a saginaw on it when I got it. Is that the correct one?

What about the /6 cars?

The pics on the link commentary is incorrect. The pump being called the Federal is actually a TRW/Thompson.. You can tell by the longer mounting area (for the bracket) on the back of the reservoir.. The Federal has a much smaller area to attach the bracket on the back of the reservoir..

I THINK the TRW pump was phased out by 69, but that is a guess based on my experience finding the correct pump for my 67 R/T.. Seems as if the pullies/pumps all work as a system..

Also the TRW pump comes in two sizes based on the diameter of the body/reservoir. 4 7/8 and a 5 1/8.. I THINK the larger is big block while the smaller is for a small block..

Seems I have right pump. Now should I put it in my car? It has not been running in years. Do they go bad except for leaks? Should I put it in just with new lines and see what happens? Now what?
