Chrysler Power is not dead yet, just on life support.

I got... "informed"... by Jeff Johnson that they are still planning on bringing it back after some retooling.

The magazines dying off is probably driven by ad revenue as much as the current smartphone/blog/internet thing.

I read the other day that most folks never pick up a book after leaving college or high school.
Maybe humans have become addicted to viewing screens rather than paper - one is largely "free" and passive, right ?
Printed media seems so much richer to me, and better for the details of the text and the photos.

The internet killed the newspapers, I would include magazines also being effected. I remember buying the very first issue of High Performance Mopar at a mall book store. Wonder if it worth anything like the first copy of Playboy? I have a bunch of Mopar magazines from back then. Not even sure what magazines are still in publication anymore. Anybody else have a copy?

Also found this cool link that has a lot of info/pics of a lot of the mopar magazines.

I have bunch of old HiPerformance Mopar magazines it was pretty good I managed to have my Dart in it back in 1998 , I don't subscribe to any of them anymore , I let my last one Hemmings Muscle News run out a few years ago when its content changed.

Better for the details of the photos? Yeah right. You would rather have to get a magnifying glass and look at a grainy mag pic than to be able to see clearly all details of a digital photo that you can zoom in as close as you want and see every detail? You magazine neanderthals need to get over it. stirthepot

Hey Mike; some photos back then were taken with large format pro cameras, and details are readily visible to Neanderthal eyes.
Digital tends to be clearer than film much of the time, obviously, and I take advantage of that when I can pick my knuckles up off the ground.
Have a nice day.

The passing of Deaven Butler brought on the current interruption. angel It is my understanding that efforts are underway to revive the Magazine. As we all know it will be an uphill battle and I wish them the best.
