I'm doing the metal work on the back of my 70 Challenger and I'd like to get the pieces of tail panel trim in hand to fit the body panels just right. My question is for the guys who have personally used the reproduction trim and the OEM trim. I'm the type of guy who always prefers to go OEM with my builds but I have yet to find restored or mint OEM trunk and quarter trim. What is the consensus? Reproduction is trash or is it nearly indistinguishable?

The repro stuff is not very good. I learned to refinish mine. Didn't anodize the left side. Still looks perferct 19 years later.

I have factory quarters and factory trim pieces on my car. Even from the factory the fit and finish is not perfect. I have tried over the years to adjust the quarter moulding pieces and deckld and deckld lid moulding. None of matches up perfectly. If I get the mouldings to run I line. Then the quarter mouldings don't follow the quarters well enough and it look worse.

I used restored original 1/4 moldings and a Laysons reproduction lid molding. I am pleased with both. Sorry, only pic I have handy iof the moldings is pretty close-in. The Laysons molding was the second brand I tried. The first (can’t recall the seller) was too short and didn’t fit flush.
