Well it all started out good, but ended up with a broken car,,car went 10.11 right out of the trailer, which is not really what I expected but I decided to work with it, made a tire pressure change down a 1/2 # and it did not like that, went in the 10 oh qualifier and BAM! wheels up and out the back door with a 10.09@130.47 now that's better, fifth and final pass for the day, another wheels up launch and I knew it was on a better pass when the car just went flat and changed tone, uh oh what was that got back to the trailer and after checking thing's over found that I had broke an adjuster on #8 intake took the rocker shaft off and tried to find a new one BGR didn't have one (thank's a bunch Bob you tried) and several other's didn't have the right one eather, had to wait untill Indy open's in the morn,,,got one and put it all back together in the last 10 oh qualifier it ran a 10.06 and then right after the trap's the rocker let go again,,,,this time it pushed the adjuster thru the rocker and stripped the threads out of the rocker I am done,, spent the rest of the time visiting and watching and hanging out with friend's,,,,now it's to get her fixed for Pittsburgh if I can.

I was heartbroken that it did not stay together Bill, I really do not want an asterik beside my wins this year in 10.0, because you are not able to make the call. If I can do anything for you please let me know, would be cool to get you back to Pittsburgh.

sorry to hear about the adjuster.
I just replaced all of mine with Smith bros.
They are very nice and great quality!
they cost me $80 shipped.
hope you get it fixed!

What really stinks is the pushrod took out some of the thread's in the rocker, and what was left obviously not enough to hold it, as it stripped the remaining thread's right out.

They are Erson's and no longer made, and my understanding there are no left over part's or replacement's,,Bob George told me he could fix it but I am alway's going to be a little about it,I don't even know how to get replacement adjusters like those, the Indy's that I bought don't have the oiling provision like that they just squirt out the end and hit the valve cover.

I was wondering how you ran with the new cam/manifold.

I think the cam need's to be retarded some more, it was ground on a 105* and put in on a 107* c/l

track really wasn't too bad, had a 1.34 60ft which is good for that track, played with the air in the slick's a little and that made for some improvement's

wish I could afford some T&D's, I could call them and ask if the rocker's will work with my shaft's and block's.

Bill I think one of my econo TD will work... I'm
sure I have a spare or two.... I'll see if I can find
some tomorrow and check the shaft size(you gotta remember
that I just moved EVERYTHING out of my shop so I'll
have to look)

Over torqued. You end up stretching the hardened stud just a bit too much and it never went back, turned into a weak link. Seen that before, I'd take them all out and see if anymore are coke bottled.

since I pushrod oil, then I don't know, I would think that would affect the oil going to the shaft and bearing, I think I will replace them all just for piece of mind if I can find someone that has the right one's.

Remcharger, I would agree with you, but it broke on the cup end not the nut end,,if it had been on the nut end then it's possible to be over torqued.
