Yeah, it was years ago that Dodge got Elite on board; Erica and Jeggie ran them. The 10,500 limit allegedly killed any advantage, so they weren't competitive with the GM engine combos. Whether that was by circumstance or back-door secret handshake...

Sure wouldn't be the first time NHRA did something to make Mopars less competitive in pro stock. Some things never change.

The writing is on the wall for all of the big three. Big foreign investment companies will eventually buy them all up, pilfer through them and sell it all off in pieces. CHRYSLER, JEEP, RAM is already split up and will be the first.

Elite tests at my local track alot(out there today actually) usually a private rental as you would imagine. Years ago they showed up for the regular test and tune instead of a private rental. Erica was driving one of Jeg's cars. It was a dodge but it had a chevy motor in it lol. I can't imagine what they needed to test so bad that they drove to Tulsa(a few hours for them) to run with the common folk at a Test and Tune. It was cool to have a rare chance at hearing a single pro stocker run at close range. https://youtube.com/shorts/w5Bqus-KHXY?si=LI41_bd6Qh9xTkpv

Yeah, it was years ago that Dodge got Elite on board; Erica and Jeggie ran them. The 10,500 limit allegedly killed any advantage, so they weren't competitive with the GM engine combos. Whether that was by circumstance or back-door secret handshake... The Hemi 06 cylinder head configuratation lended itself to making power at higher RPM to the GM offerings. Peak power was above the 10,500 RPM. The RPM limit was an attempt to keep costs down. The symmetrical head layour that Alan P uses now has different valve placement etc that is better suited to running under 10,500 My understanding is both castings have always been available, so there isn't some conspiracy against Mopar fans. Mopar just didn't see the ROI in Pro Stock and focused their money in to Top Fuel and Funny Car at the time. Without the backing, the Johnson's stepped aside. I doubt that Alan Prusiensky will see this, but he'd know more about this than all of us.

There is nothing wrong with the dodge engine. If someone invested the money to run it properly funded it would win I'm sure of it. Building engines and also trying to race pro stock is very difficult. I wish somebody would invest the money it would make our class so much better if it had two manufactures racing against each other. I will run faster than I've ever run before this year. I'm still up against 16 team car's. If I thought it wasn't possible I would never keep working on it. Thanks for chiming in Alan!
