That's awesome, Buddy!

Always had a sweet spot for Pontiacs, I had a 65 GTO Tri-power 389 with an M-21 way back when.

So are cheater cams still flat tappets or do they run rollers in Stock now? I'm so out of touch anymore.

Pontiacs and mopars have at least a few cool similarities, particularly the port sizes and Siamese configurations are pretty comparable. Pontiacs seem to like a lot wider lobe separation for some reason though and seem to make there best power under 6500.

If I remember right, Pontiac valve covers are interchangeable with SBC's

I have 2 Cam Dymanics 440 magnum cheater cams I bought from Herb McCandless back in the 80's I've never put into anything, very tempted to put one in my 383 dart and see if it will have the needed piston to valve clearance ...

Ok, I have to add to this story. I have a challenger stocker 383, that has been an ongoing project for about 5 yrs. If I had to pick one person to thank for getting the project up and running, it's Dwayne Portor. He did the heads and answered more questions than I can probably remember. I'm sure there's many, many people he has helped. Thanks Dwayne

Absolutely, Dwayne is the man. I drove back and forth to his shop a couple of times, 4 hrs away. I also have a shelf full of heads he’s worked on for me over the last couple of years. 2 sets of B1’s, 2 sets Hemi heads, and 2 sets of Edelbrocks. I’ll try to post pics this weekend.
