The original owners of Country Classics just sold out last year, so the new owners are probably selling off the hundreds of vehicles that have been there for years. I stop in a couple times a year to see what is new, not much that I can see... Didn't know they sold out. Many of the cars on their lot were consignment sales. I used to stop there on occasion when i lived near Springfield, and the place was always crowded with cars and shoppers on weekends. I have since moved out of ILL-Annoy but pass by Staunton often to visit family...haven't stepped foot on the lot for a few years. I don't know the place from a bar of soap, but a quick scan of their inventory seems to indicate their asking prices aren't as high as most dealers. Maybe the vehicles are needy or are patched up, I don't know. Not sure, but I do remember that they would allow test drives on the nearby frontage road.

I stop in a couple times a year to see what is new, not much that I can see... I've noticed same. Cars stayed for sale for years. I think this truck is about $5k too high.

They have a lot of stuff you aren't going to find in many places and a lot of it appears to be in pretty good condition for the age and area of the country. You do have to look over everything carefully though. I think that truck has been there for years. I agree that the prices aren't as high as most similar dealers.

I don't know the place from a bar of soap, but a quick scan of their inventory seems to indicate their asking prices aren't as high as most dealers. Maybe the vehicles are needy or are patched up, I don't know. They would go to major shows and swap meets around the midwest and buy cars there, I transported a couple of them from the Jefferson swap meet in Wisconsin several years ago. Basically buy low and sell low was their way of doing business, but they knew nothing about the history of the vehicles...

In my area, that truck is probably a $6500 to $8,000 truck if it is as clean and runs well as it looks. Of course, 20 years ago, it was a $3500 truck - but those days are over! If it was an automatic, and not connected in any way to the state of Illinois, I might try to buy it for less $$$. It looks pretty cool to me.

I prefer auto as well, but if it were an extended cab version (foolishly sold the one i had) i'd throw a $6K offer at them and see what happens.
