ScottSmith_Harms OP Mr Wizzard Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 42,714 Spokane Washington	I just picked some of this stuff up at Ace Hardware to spray some lawn furniture, I did not expect it to be glittery, I thought I was buying a textured satin black. When I sprayed some of this on a test panel next to some Dark Argent paint that Totally Auto sent me it was a DEAD ON match! The Krylon is super cheap as compared to the TA stuff so it's a way you can save money if you plan to paint your own stuff. They also had a light silver argent mix, it also matched TA's paint, I'd guess it has to be the same supplier to be so close. *BTW, NIETHER what TA or the Krylon sells is a perfect match to vintage original Dark or Silver Argent, for that you'll need the good stuff sold by AllTrim Specilaties or Roger Gibson, but for street/driver quality cars this rattle can stuff will be ok for most. 3046730-KrylonDarkArgent.jpg (3408 downloads)

I painted a dark blue plastic console for my Bronco so it would match my light chestnut interior. Rustoleum's "Nutmeg" finish was a dead-on match for the Ford color AND gloss! You have to use their plastic primer before the paint, but it holds up quite well! For those of you needing to refinish some of your interior plastic parts, it's worth considering!

The material the housing is made of is a blend of ABS (a styrene blend) it's one of the easier plastics to paint with good results. Caution though, use a VERY good degreaser before you paint, any Armorall or silicone based protectants that may have been wiped on the dash will cause MAJOR fish eye problems if you paint over the stuff.
