I just picked some of this stuff up at Ace Hardware to spray some lawn furniture, I did not expect it to be glittery, I thought I was buying a textured satin black. When I sprayed some of this on a test panel next to some Dark Argent paint that Totally Auto sent me it was a DEAD ON match! The Krylon is super cheap as compared to the TA stuff so it's a way you can save money if you plan to paint your own stuff. They also had a light silver argent mix, it also matched TA's paint, I'd guess it has to be the same supplier to be so close.

*BTW, NIETHER what TA or the Krylon sells is a perfect match to vintage original Dark or Silver Argent, for that you'll need the good stuff sold by AllTrim Specilaties or Roger Gibson, but for street/driver quality cars this rattle can stuff will be ok for most.

isnt it nice when something works that doesnt cost a buttload I found another Krylon product, semi-flat black in their "rust tough" line. I use it for painting chassis parts

Have you looked at the Rustoleum line of plastic paints yet? I painted a dark blue plastic console for my Bronco so it would match my light chestnut interior. Rustoleum's "Nutmeg" finish was a dead-on match for the Ford color AND gloss! You have to use their plastic primer before the paint, but it holds up quite well! For those of you needing to refinish some of your interior plastic parts, it's worth considering!

Would the Rustoleum or Krylon plastic paints work on the black gauge housing?

Mine needs a touch up, and I was wondering what to use?

That stuff is Awesome! I love how it dries to the touch in all of about 4 minutes!

I've used it on a ton of parts already!

Pretty much any quick drying rattle can paint will work on your housing. The material the housing is made of is a blend of ABS (a styrene blend) it's one of the easier plastics to paint with good results. Caution though, use a VERY good degreaser before you paint, any Armorall or silicone based protectants that may have been wiped on the dash will cause MAJOR fish eye problems if you paint over the stuff.

Does anybody know how they redo the 68-70 rallye dash gauges. like the actual trim pieces(68 vertical lines, 69 pebble texture) I definetely can't afford to pay 465 for just a few plastic pieces, but i would like for it to look a little nicer than it's current state??
