Recently the relatively cheap and over the counter supplement
Taurine has been getting attention as a “Long Covid Effects” treatment

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2023-10-amino-acid-play-key-role.html

Earlier the simple amino acid Taurine got attention because the blood of children has ten times the concentration of Taurine than elderly people.

I started taking Taurine.
I have noticed unexpected and unmentioned effects:
all my fingernails are growing faster, thicker and stronger.

My left thumbnail used to keep splitting at one spot, and that has stopped, which was a welcome change

Japanese wasabi sauce is mildly hot & may help memory:

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2023-11-volunteers-wasabi-short-long-term-memory.html

sample quote

The team asked 72 Japanese volunteers between the ages of 60 and 80 to take either a wasabi tablet (containing 0.8 milligrams of 6-MSITC) or a placebo tablet every night before going to bed for 12 weeks. The researchers screened out people with known ailments, mental disorders, memory problems and those taking certain medications or who were heavy drinkers.

Each volunteer was also asked to take cognitive and memory tests before and after the test period.

The test results showed that the volunteers who took the wasabi tablets exhibited improvements in both long- and short-term memory but experienced no changes in cognitive ability. The researchers also found that those taking the wasabi tablets did better on association tests, such as connecting names to faces, which prior research has shown is a common problem in aging adults. The volunteers who were given a placebo showed no memory or cognitive improvements, however.

The above is a way better clinical trial than the highly questionable 20 person “Prevagen” endeavor that has become infamous.

The research team used a stellate ganglion block,
which includes injecting anesthetic directly into the stellate ganglion on one side of the neck to stimulate the regional autonomic nervous system.

The minimally invasive procedure takes less than 10 minutes, and no sedation or intravenous analgesia is necessary.
...snip...

Follow-up was obtained for 37 patients (65%), with 22 (59%) of the 37 reporting improved symptoms at one week post-injection. Of these 22, 18 (82%) reported significant progressive improvement by one month post-procedure. At three months, there was a mean 49% improvement in symptoms (range 10% to 100%) among the 22 patients.
