Is there a substitute carb for the Carter AFB 3854S that is legal in Stock? All the carbs that I came across are either in poor condition or someone is looking to bail out Chrysler with one purchase. NHRA only lists this carb for a 273 in 1965. Thanks

235 273 DP 10.5 1-4 Cart AFB-3853S/SM 3854S/AUTO
Carb sizes – 1437x1563/1063x1250

You might be able to run a Carter 9501S. A couple of years ago I inquired about running an Edelbrock 750 for a 1964 MW and was told it was legal as was the Carter 9755S although those were out of production. It sure isn't listed in the Engine Specification sheet though. I wish NHRA would publish these things that are legal replacements rather than have to ask. I don't know if Edelbrock makes a 500 cfm AFB, but if they do it might be legal, but you have to ask. You can try the 3853S as well, but that might be harder to find.

What are you willing to pay for one of those carbs? I think I have one at home but have to check. Send me a PM and we'll work something out.

Parts I seek: driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set 16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better. 69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields Send a PM.
