I just finished watching this!

Simply incredible what they were able to do without electronic controls back in '65!


'63 Dodge 330
11.19 @ 121 mph
Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs.
10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.

In typical NHRA style, they let the Mallicoat Brothers run turbochargers heads up against Rootes style blowers as long as they were going slow. Once they started winning, NHRA changed the rules.

Probably used a computer the size of a school bus to compute those turbo sizes. I bet precision turbo has a phone app now lol.

We now know what the potential of a setup like this is capable of using modern tech.

Tom Bailey did a 5.99 in the 1/4 mile on Drag Week a few years back with a full bodied car and twins on a billet aluminum engine.
