I think the restored value is 70 to 80. The burnt orange interior and wrong motor will hold it back. Even at 40k the math doesn't work out if you do the restoration yourself. As is probably 40-45k

But the biggest problem I see is the crowd who wants it is getting old.

Imo. Projects are a very hard sell unless dirt cheap in today's market

I saw this happen to 57 Chevies. When I was a kid they were selling for $30k Challengers were $500 to $3500.

The people with money were older and could afford the cars the wanted as a kid. As they died off the prices for the 57 Chevies stagnated as their cars were sold by their kids for less and less just to get rid of them. Challengers skyrocketed in price.

Right now there are several 57 Chevies around in good condition in the $30 to $40K range because the people that want them are disappearing fast. Challengers are starting to drop in price now.

Some will say they aren't dropping but when they were worth $40K a few years ago when bread was $2 and a Hyundai was $25K Now bread is $4 and Hyundai's are $80K and that same Challenger is around $40 to $50K it is effectively a price drop. IMHO

As for the Challenger above it is out of my price range but I would love to have it. Fender flares and all.

For every guy who says its too high there is always the next guy with money to burn. Its always been this way. Ive never lucked into a good car in the last 25 years or so its been always pay for the right car or the next guy will. 1980 was a long time ago when we used to buy these for very little. Not new info here though.

With all here with newer SRT-s how much value dropped the first day off the lot with that first mile? .... money to burn.

I agree with the 40k number as is. U code 440 Magnum cars seem to have fallen through the cracks as far as values are concerned. The should be right in the middle between a 383 car and a 440 Sixpack car, but they are closer in value to a 383 car than a V code 440 Sixpack car. The 4 speed and 4.10 Dana are a big plus, but the interior and exterior colors, ,non matching engine,as well as the mods will hold the car back. 40k still isn't bad for a non matching car that needs restoration.

It’s ok, not everybody is a MoPaR expert, so you’ll learn the value of these cars once you get enough experience.

A lot more time and $ than I would spend that's for sure.
Easier to buy a nicely done car, enjoy it now, and IMO in a better color.

That B7 car was mine and I restored it.

I sold it in the early 2000’s, but the past 2 owners have been very good to it.

The last 11 cars I sold in the past two years went to people 19-35 years old. In fact, I wish I had more project cars because a lot of kids want to build stuff recently. I get a lot of youngest calling for parts and tech, which I am glad to help out.
