got the new hoosier DOT drag radials on and went for a test drive

after pulling in garage noticed RR tire jammed into rear of qtr panel

upon further investigation found right side LB bracket ripped away from LB crossmember

weld good but metal torn just above weld

any body ever see this before?

right beside the weld is a fairly common failure mode. I'll let some of the chassis builders/welders explain why it happened and how to prevent it.

your lucky the rear end stayed under the car. I've seen a few that didn't.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
