Some messages etc. contain attachment's that require Internet exploder to view. I have tried enabling the IE mode through MS Edge but it say the IE program need to be reinstalled.
have tried off and on for hours to follow the online instructions to give up out of utter frustration (this is not my forte)

is there any one that can help me with reinstalling internet exploder that was evidently dumped from my system at some point.

TIA beer

Found this:

(Internet) Explorer is dead: what this means for users
At this point, many users have likely shifted away from Internet Explorer. The news that Internet Explorer would be retiring on June 15, 2022, was reported over a year ago. For many people that signaled that it was time to move on.

But for those who were not ready to leave, or simply did not want to stop using the familiar browser, starting at midnight they will not have a choice. At that point, any attempt to open the Internet Explorer desktop app will automatically redirect you to Microsoft Edge.

What format are the attachments in? Should be able to find some other app to open them in or an app to change the format into something that can be opened? Pretty sure IE is dead....as it should be, always was a crappy browser

Is Microsoft Edge your primary browser? I've been using Chrome for quite a while now, and Microsoft Edge showed up I think shortly after IE went away. I tried it but was having issues with Edge opening certain files and websites, where Chrome had no issues. I still have Edge on my PC, but I don't use it, I'll stick with Chrome as long as I can.

(Don't know if this helps, just my experience)

I actually use opera as my default browser but when i get an email like pic 1 ( has the Blue I circled) and I click on open in browser it defaults to edge and shows the picture in the next post. I separated the pics as they looked like one picture confused.

lot's of google info but very confusing. You are supposed to be able to use an Internet exploder mode in Edge but it then says it can't find the program and to reload IE. very frustrating.
As previously mentioned lot's google info but very hard to follow Typical MS 💩

You will probably have to remove IE from your system list. IE has been turned off. your system won't ever find it again.

Then you should be able to open the internet through whatever service you have, to a search bar

Then, from that search bar, you will need to download a browser that is something other then IE, like Chrome, Brave, or whatever MS is using these days.

Would have been a lot easier if you had done that when they told you to rather then waiting until they shut IE off.

That message makes me think there is a file assocaition with IE.
I would check by downloading the image file and see what the extention is then, see if it trys to give you the same message when you double click to open.
if so, then you just have to right click on the file and open with and pick edge or some other browser and have it open that way instead. make sure you click the box always open with.

Found the current email was a bounce back notice to a reply I had sent. So I will have to wait for another to try and solve the issue.
Thanks for the help so far. When it happens again i will revive the post if needed
