I absolutely love Superbirds, and I absolutely hate this car. No VIN posted...so is it originally a 318 Satellite with some lipstick on it? Should a "Tribute" car, or as its listed "Replica/Kit" be of an actual production car.? Reminds me of a 69 Charger "convertible" I saw once....I feel the same about this car.

There is a reason Dodge never made a Charger convertible - Fugly! I agree with all of the above.

I have owned 5 Superbirds and 1 Daytona. None of them got as much attention as my Hemi Daytona Convertible. Many people have copied my creation, (70 Charger R/t 1981-1985 and then as a Daytona 1986 to present.) Somebody must like them! LOL! WINGNUT

Pete, your car is awesome! The original designer of the second generation Charger built the first Charger convertible for himself. Richard Sais always believed that there should have been a convertible version of the Charger built.

People who drive around with hubcaps from their grandpa's Valiant on their Muscle cars have no idea what a good looking Mopar is supposed to look like!

It would be an insult to the dog dish hubcaps to put them on the ugly purple thing.

The issue with a Daytona and SuperBird convertible is that it antithetical to the reason those cars existed at all. These cars were designed and built for a specific purpose, to slice through the air better, hence the nose, wing, and flush backlight. A convertible top on either flies in the face of the design and purpose of the cars. It's like sticking a two-barrel carb on a 426 race hemi. You can, but it ignores the basic reasons it exists at all.

The thing that defines a second-gen Charger is it's roofline, C-pillar buttresses and backlight. Immediate recognition. A Charger convertible is stunning with the top down, but with the top up, it looks like a wonky Coronet rebuilt with Charger parts. I love the '70 Super Charger, but that's a beast of a different sort.

Don't get me wrong, there certainly have been a bunch of them built over the years, so your opinions may be different. I certainly admire those who have that kind of talent to take on this kind of build.

I have six second generation Chargers with the factory roofline to look at in the garage, two of them have factory sunroofs, and one is a V code Sixpack car,so having the seventh one being the convertible is fine with me.

The same could be said by the people who love steelies and hubcaps and don't need to know your opinion on each and every thread they appear in, but obviously that line of thought only applies to you or maybe it is not comprehensible to you that others may have different interests.

It's the latest fad and is so overdone, that they were calling the MCCAN show the dog dish nationals. Almost no one ran them back in the day,and the few that did buy vehicles with them, took them off and put aftermarket wheels on their cars within a few days of ownership. I had a full set of the 459 wheels in the wheel pile out behind the garage. The reason they were bringing so much money,is because no one bothered to save them. Call it bucking the trend if you want, but I was at the Dodge dealer in 1970,and the only cars that had them on them were Dodge Dart 4 doors and pickup trucks. Flashy wheels sold cars. A Plum Crazy Road Runner with stripes and graphics all over it isn't going to pull off the sleeper look just because it has wheels and dog dish hubcaps that belong on a Valiant!

I know that he had it for sale for $250,000 about ten years ago, I don't know if it ever sold,or who has the car now. When I saw the car on the cover of muscle car review back in 1985,I thought it was the coolest Charger that I had ever seen! It is certainly one of the most controversial cars built.
