I am sure it has been restored to factory condition and has an all original story behind it like all of the rest of the "survivors".

Thats what I was thinking, looks like the mid - late 70's, the car was super clean and probably got vin swapped. I was wondering if any of the e-body numbers experts could drill down and find out, I can go find the other pictures of it if needed

I'm going to guess by the timeframe of the pic (mid to late70's?), it was likely parted and crushed. We have to remember they weren't as special or sought after as they are today. You to mention during the fuel shortages you almost had to give them away. if anyone had access to Ca. DMV records they could try running the plate #. I'd bet it was salvaged Old plates only stay on the record books for seven years! If you had the Vin# it may be looked up....but it was wrecked before the internet, so records would be hard to find.

just another Hemi, Hemi trans, maybe an E body dana, and maybe a few other undamaged parts, for the racers to consume. The wrecked car wouldn't have had much value back then unless you were parting it out. I bought a 70 Charger RT, 440, 4 speed, 3:55 Dana SG, car with less then 50,K miles on it for $100 in the late 70s/early 80s, the car was rough around the edges and the guy needed the cash fast. I made a small fortune off of that car. That Hemi car would have been a great parts car. Guys wanted the performance parts, most didn't give a rat's butt why the parts were available or the reason you was selling them.

These were the kind of cars the Blakes were buying-up whenever they could find one, and then just sitting on them. They had the foresight.

No smog test results for this license plate in California, but the only test I found for our GTS was in 1996. There were other tests before this.
Then again, multiple carbs were smog check exempt, so there is that...

Interesting. Why were multiple carb cars exempt?

I had BARRELS of flip top gas caps, pistol frip shifter handles, etc. Wonder what I ever did with them? We used to buy junk cars. One day a guy drove a 71 Mustang with a smashed left fender. I asked if he was gonaa junk it and told them they'd only give him $40. I bought it off him for $100 (my boss said don't do that again). Replaced the fender. Droive for a summer then flipped for $600.
