Is there a way to report a user on this board as a scammer? They have recently joined and have only one post. I'm fairly certain that this person is using internet pictures and trying to get people to buy stuff. I know this because I've been looking for some parts and they have been feeding me incorrect pictures of similar things that I have been looking for. There is a warning on FBBO of what to look for and this person fits the bill.

I was just checking to see how many people had one post looking for the scammer and I noticed 200 search pages of the 558 pages had zero posts. Was really surprised that many sighed up and never posted anything. Anybody that hasn't been here since the Great Reset of 2003 is probably still on the list but has 0 posts.

YEP.. I got scammed out of $720 by Lloyd Whitney in Texas .. same way his " friend " answered my ad looking for a 4 inch stroker crank and gave my Lloyds email of course the scum that answered my ad deleted his account right afterwards BEWARE GUYS DON"T GET RIPPED OFF LIKE I DID !!!.. then Lloyd tells me he can only refund my money if I give him my bank account info .. yeah right !!!

I've bought and sold a lot here over the years and never been screwed. Just look at the user's registration date and post count. Nothing under a year, and has to have an active post history.

Here is the message i got from Roble 88 out of Allen Texas when i posted a wanted ad in the e body wanted section looking for a fender for 70 challenger. The pm Roble88 sent said "Contact Mckay Ford, He has a 70 Challenger passenger fender for sale in mint condition. Here's his email kelseygraym@outlook.com"
I emailed Mckay Ford and said i was told you have a fender, he replied and said he did and was in Spring Tx, i told him I know someone in the next town over from where he said he was and that they will come and pick up the fender after i get detailed pics with him in it, asked how much he wanted and how he wanted to be paid. I haven't heard back.
Had it happen on another site too, where I posted a wanted ad. Sent me a link to a vendor who just happened to have several. Got mad when i wanted pictures of a specific area of the fender with him in it, called me some names and blocked me, this was on FB, I've bought quite a bit of stuff over the internet but have to be really careful. i was looking for a fuel pump push rod on here, and was told a guy had one on FBBO. he was in massachusetts. well, ok........... i contacted him, asked how he wanted to be paid. he said a postal money order would be ok. got one, sent it to him, and waited. no big deal............ contacted him later, and he said he would look, as he said he thought he had sent it out. nothing since, although i have messaged him several times..................

Going w-a-y back on this board, it was 'easy' to spot a scammer in three steps, 1) recently joined 2) low post count 3) always had a gmail account.
I got burned for $20 back then, but no problems recently.
It's frustrating how bad scamming has gotten.

My new? cell phone came with a g mail account, so I decided to use it to give out when somethhing asked for email address, occasionally I will forward something to my buddies, they usually won't open it because of the gmail addy ...
even older, I still use my original aol mail account, I get "still using aol?" why not, it's free and it works.
It takes gasoline to interest me.

This is exactly the way that it went down for me. He showed me pictures from an Ebay auction in Detroit. When I reported a scammer to the Mods on FBBO, he was gone a couple of days later. Maybe he left on his own, but maybe not. How come there is no way to report a suspicious poster to the Mods here on Moparts?

Well I just got scammed too. I put an ad out for a wire harness for my 71 dodge dart and I sent him $. Now I have to figure out how to dispute this with PayPal. Did you send it as a gift? If so, you're boned.

Can't the mods get rid of this guy? The board software most likely supports restricting access to forums based on post count. Not sure why management won't do it. Should be done to the unmoderated forum and classifieds to keep the trolls and scammers out respectively.

Roble 88 just sent me a message answering an ad I posted for nos doors and fenders. message reads. contact Frances Buyers he has the nos doors and fenders in mint condition. has an email address. well, I emailed him, and I got an email back. let's say the prices were too good to be true. so remembering this post, I looked at the profile of Roble88 and sure enough .one post and just joined 3/27/23 from Allen TX.im guessing nobody has any dealing with this guy??? it's got to be a scam! mods may want to look at this one????
