I follow a group on FB for the later B-bodies. A guy there recently picked up this '77 Fury and it had this 'show car' tag on it. Aside from the obvious, any significance to it? He didn't post the VIN but, if that's the sequence number, is it a preproduction car?

As an aside, guy stated the car has 100K miles on it.

I have no connection to the buyer or the car, I'm just curious because I've never seen a tag like it.

shruggy

It was probably a pre production car used for promotion.

Probably so, first I seen that pattern. Must not of been a hit or it was too costly to go on to production.

Interesting. Pretty cool that it's hung around this long. I love those front ends. Always wanted an A38 77/78 car with 440. I think they've all but gone away now. Especially ones not completed rotted.

It was likely used in auto show(s). Ive seen the same window sticker on a charger SRT8 years ago sitting behind a dealership. I have pictures somewhere, they also had a RHD 300 SRT too, this was a dealer very close to the factory

Looks legit for a prototype or pre production car.

The interior pattern is wild. In a stoner watching static on TV way.

Is it just me or is there something off about the headlights? Too high or flush?

I bought one of those cars once where the headlights looked funky, turned out, someone along the way had one of the two stacked headlights in upside down. It was a pretty determined effort, they don't fit well upside down. The lights don't sit down into the holders when they are wrong, the guy had the screw tabs bent inward and the\y were only threaded in about 2 turns each. I can just about hear him cussing trying to put that light in upside down, it must have been quite a project!

Around here, the rear spring shackle mounting boxes rotted out and the spring came up through the floor until it reached the trunk lid. It was too bad, otherwise they were pretty decent cars.

I think it's just the way this one is sitting; as if no engine.

They look like you could ALMOST jam some '79 Cordoba headlight trims in them lol.

At one time it was said that the Dodge Magnum nose bolted to the front fenders in place of what ever was there. Might have been just BS though. Never cared to try.

That car would have been a prototype car. The interior is pretty wild! My first car was a 1975 Newport it was maroon with the Indian Aztec crush velvet interior which was a pretty wild designed too.

Yup my 76 charger SE did that.
currently I have a 78 2 door Fury, maroon... 56k original, I'm the 2nd owner, have had since 07.

I wonder what made those specific cars rust like that. It was kinda weird.
