Same here. What is the gist of the story?

If you don't have an ad blocker you can go to the story, I WILL NOT remove my ad blocker or even whitelist ANY site! They can go pound sand. I was at the reveal of the Demon 170 and Tim Kiniskis laid it out pretty well with some choice expletives....LOL

If you're using Firefox, click the button just to the left of the star, this will eliminate all the extraneous fluff and just leave the text, it works on most sites but a lot are catching on to the trick. I also think the extension "no script" would do the same thing, but I quit using it as it seemed to cause more problems than it solved.

I have an ad blocker and watched it just fine. Its clickbait, the CEO was not there, it was a few journalists talking about the new demon

The article says that the people that own Dodge don't want to build performance IC motors any more. The new Dodge performance cars will all be electric cars. If you don't like it, don't buy a Dodge. Jeep will be offering a turbo inline 6, that will be the closest thing to a Hell Cat Hemi you will be able to buy from their company. If you don't like it, screw you. With love, The Dodge CEO.

In 50 years folks will be toted around in self driving electric cars and our passion will be looked at like we were enthralled by the model T.

Sad but true.

My employer has invested heavily the last several yrs into the electric car parts development/supply domestic and abroad, while it started like a Thoroughbred out of the gate, production fizzled by approx 25% the last year for us, and looks the same for this qtr, overall industry demand in the US EV market for vehicles/components is down roughly 16%, production and demand was higher under the previous US administration believe it or not!....after the current US administration is gone in 2024, I don't see the EV market making a rebound.....again Mopar is late to the game, and it's going to hurt with all their eggs in one basket....

Thanks for that synopsis. I fear that if anyone else makes an IC muscle car, people WILL buy that rather than the electric Dodge. Somehow the old joke about snowmobiles, an hour of working on them for 15 minutes of use seems to apply here (an hour of charging for 15 minutes of hard driving).

I agree, sad but true.

Some people do not understand the “passion” of those who just love steam locomotives.

It is very common for those going on the first ride behind one of those getting downwind of the black smoke,
coughing
and saying: how did anyone routinely tolerate such horrible conditions?

How could Albert Einstein love such steam train rides,
even less go into dreamy “thought experiments”
where the train went faster and faster
until it “caught up with a beam of light.”

However laws are passed, and “other peoples money” thrown
history is full of surprises.

It is not at all certain that
battery technology
is going to dominate future progress.

For example:
For many decades,
a Neutrino was one sole particle which had no mass.
Then, Neutrinos were not one thing, but had “flavors” that differed.
Then surprising evidence popped up that Neutrinos had some tiny amount of mass.
Then the math indicated that having mass implied that Neutrinos somehow “had to” alternate their “flavor.”

This affects every one of us.
The vast, vast number of Neutrinos passing through our bodies each second “boggles the mind.”

The people confidently predicting what will be happening
66 years from now,
should soberly consider
what we did not understand

Weren't we saying some of these same things 40 years ago when Mopar destroyed all the big block molds and went all mini van on us? Is going electric now all that different from them going 4 banger/front wheel drive 40 years ago?

We lived through the Daimler-Benz era, and the Cerberus era. Now it's Stellantis. After all the rape and pillaging, it is absolutely amazing that the nameplate has even survived.

But the version of Mopar that we have revered for over half a century is gone. In fact, long gone. It is a shame that the V8 performance vehicles are going away, but in the mid 70s, and again in the mid 80s, who would have thought that we would have had the performance products from them that we have the last dozen years or so?

Maybe they will come to their senses in time.

Hope springs eternal.

Master, again and still

The iPad Brave browser handles that website’s annoyances,
but the standard issue Apple Safari browser does not.

I would not use an Apple product if you gave one to me, in fact it would be on fire shortly after it touched my hands... flame
