It’s been a long time since I’ve logged into Moparts as I haven’t had a Mopar for several years and felt I didn’t have anything to contribute. Or seek help with. Well, times have changed and I recently purchased a 2010 Ram 1500 quad cab with a 4.7 v8. Nothing really fancy, but the wife loves it and I guess that’s what matters. But we’re having some issues with it. Ever since we bought it, it has a tendency to stall when coming to a stop, especially after an extended drive or off the highway. Tried to get the car lot we bought it from to fix it, but they are useless and now won’t even return our calls. Anyone have any ideas? I’ve been thinking of spraying out the throttle body with some carb cleaner, but it’s been too cold when I’m home to do anything. Also, is there an effective injector cleaner that isn’t just a bottle to poor into the gas tank? This has been the biggest issue with it. There is also a code for a steering angle sensor fault and possibly an issue with the steering column control module, which I think may be connected, but I’m unfamiliar with all of the modern electronics. Give me a good old fashioned 60s muscle car any day. Btw, the truck only has 107,000 miles, which I thought was really good for a 13 year old truck.

Opinions, thoughts, suggestions?

Remove and clean the throttle body, replace the clock spring and go from there.

I have a '12, same engine, reg cab long bed, ex Fastenal truck.
Looked a long time to find a dodge truck new enough that I could get bank assistance to buy it, and had a much harder time than I ever expected finding a Dodge truck that new that DOESN'T have 4 doors and a ridiculously short bed....
Just wish I could have found a reg cab in some better color than white.
And that they still make the 318/360 magnum...
Still not sold on the 4.7/5.7 engines
I bought mine with 93K, now at 111k,. And so far so good
But most vehicles I buy come to me with 150k+ miles when I acquire them, ao 111k should be " nothing" on an engine....

That's one reason I like my rumble be. Regular cab short box makes it easier to park and do stuff with then some trucks I've driven, altho sometimes it would be nice to have a quad cab to have more secure cargo space, but in those situations we have an SUV I use instead.

For the fuel injector cleaner when a friend of mine owned a shop they had a fuel inejctor cleaner that fed directly into the fuel rail. No pouring stuff into the tank and hoping that helped.

Injector cleaner is not going to clean the iac (idle air control) They get loaded up with carbon and need to be cleaned along with the throttle body.

Thanks for the replies. I will look into getting the throttle body and iac cleaned out. 5th Ave, I’m aware of that injection cleaner you mentioned. When I worked as a mechanic, I used a system like that. But not all shop have that and I’m not aware of anything like that for a do-it-yourselfer. Don’t turn wrenches anymore so somewhat dependent on others for repairs, but I still like to know what’s available. Thanks again for the suggestions.
