Our military base used to have a ton of these (late 70s style) with 225 Slant 6, 4 speed, 4x4, 1/2 ton shortbed trucks. They ran around the bases as utility vehicles, mostly. No power steering, either. Many of them were scrapped (they were used pretty hard), I know of one 225 Slant 6 that lives on powering a generator unit, and a couple of the trucks that weren't totally used up were converted to V8 power years ago.
