I ordered a babbit front bushing from Cope. His website said BABBIT. When I got it the bushing was bronze. I told him I need a babbit bushing because bronze WILL WEAR aftermarket/soft hubs. (I've seen it). He got cranky and said babbitt were all on backorder from every supplier and the bronze would be fine. Yeah right. I found a babbit one laugh2

If there are, I've never seen any different except Babbit and bronze.

I changed after 44 years of babbit, to dry film coated. This was a tip from a builder who has benched hundreds of units. I am currently testing, and “looking forward”, to check the converter hub conditions. So far, no leaks.

There is only one size front pump bushing. Several different variations, Babbit, Bronze, Bronze w/dimples, Teflon coated, and the dry film coating. All will work, just builder preference.

There are at least 2 depending on the era, I think the change was 71 ? , narrow and wide.

You are thinking of front drum bushings. 70 and down, narrow. 71 and up, wide.
