I didn't think that hit looked bad at all but, something really bad happened ..

I saw it happen and right away I thought that guy was in trouble. Real hard helmet hit to the chest. Sure hope the kid pulls through.

Cardiac stuff is scary.
The local hockey team has had 2 guys with serious heart stuff happen during games--one took a puck to the chest. He skated about 3 steps then went down. The other guy was sitting on the bench and had a heart attack and keeled over.
Luckily they both made it--when you think about it during a game you've got medical personnel and equipment standing by seconds away.

It could be one of those 1 in a 1000 things.
But I would bet more will come out about this..... If it is the case we will never know, way to much at stake to not cover that up.

A similar thing happened to Chris Pronger in an NHL game 25 years ago. Got hit in the chest in exactly the wrong spot at exactly the wrong time. He also survived, went on to play hockey for several more years. This type of cardiac event occurs in car accidents, too. A blow to the chest in the area of the heart can do it if it hits at the wrong time.

He’s sedated because most likely he’s on a ventilator. They are saying his heart stopped several times and was given CPR for 9 minutes. The experts are saying CPR only restores an out 30-50percent of the oxygen needed for the brain. If he survives he’ll have to deal with some amount of rehab.

This may make me sound like a dik but my thoughts were of course this is sad, tragic, and nauseating to watch. BUT the football community and fans seem to be beyond sad and are behaving as if this guy is a hero and has done so much for society and deserves a heroes consideration. There's even a monitary fund set up for him.
I thought about all the children in St. Judes Hospital, for example to name one group of tragedy stricken people, along with their poor parents. And people who risked their lives to save others (military). This guy was playing a dangerous game with known risks all for big money and self satisfaction. Again, tragic and I'm sad but it's weird how people treat his injury (severe at it is) just because he's a pro sports player.
Facts are stubborn things.

He 'must" be very important because there's more about him last few days then a Pope's funeral OR the vote for House Leader. Get the 'people' focused here & maybe they won't focus on all ELSE that's going to he11 in a hand basket.

Its a good storyline , by some miracle he is well enough to play in super bowl and catches the winning field goal and all is right with the world ..Bills win and Buffalo is saved

He got hit in the chest by the runner’s shoulder. They'll be changing the rules likely: NO SHOULDER HITS ALLOWED!, Might as well be playing Touch Football; since players can't be hurt.

What we have just seen is an attempt to "never let a crisis go to waste" by the NFL. They had allowed the Chiefs and Bills teams and the stadium owners in Atlanta to start selling tickets to the AFC championship game at a "neutral site" to be fair to the Bills since they had one less game played after the cancelled game that couldn't be made up. This proposal was voted on by the NFL team owners, they needed 24 votes to approve it, they got 25. What they were really doing was to wrestle control of the two championship games away from the home team and next year put them "up for bid" by the four mega-domed stadiums in the league. Then they don't have to deal with the cold weather games and the NFL controls ticket and advertising sales and makes more profit. Too bad for them the Bengals threw a wrench into the plan and won the game in Buffalo. Yep totally this. Several of the owners with these mega-domes also have crappy teams on the field. Mad because they aren't getting any money from those playoff games. Tried to take advantage of this guy's medical emergency to get greedy. Nice try guys--the AFC championship goes through Arrowhead (again, and again, and again, and again.) P.S. Domes suck.
