I think the main person that don’t like the idea of people having fun is that angry looking crow of a woman in that picture.

I dont know that area, but if its like here nothing has been built for years and now a crappy bungalow is a million dollars and people are screaming for houses, as they should be. If thats what he's up against its a lost cause.

Ha ha ha... 4500 homes at even $350000 per..... 1,575,000,000 in new homes, plus taxes brought in and all involved and being 2022.... sad to say... Track is toast.

He should of took his money to Montana or the likes or just stuck to street racing in the sticks.

If I was a track owner, 1st thing I'd do is try like crazy to get the track on a Historical Registry/Landmark/Whatever that State calls it.
Then it's there for all time, though noise ordinances or days of operation might be applied.
I love that about Firebird in the Boise, ID area...If I move there, I can play without worrying how long it'll exist.

Maybe that couldn't be done, or he didn't think of it, but property value scenarios and tax revenues have been the death of a lot of tracks.

Unfortunately if he succeeds it will only be a matter of time before the new neighbors b-tch him out of business. And likely the same developer will be standing there with a check in hand.
I have seen it several times and the developers always seem to prevail. The only exception I am aware of has been Reid Hillview airport in San Jose. I believe it was built in the early 1900's far away from the city. Eventually developers bought land and built homes close by. Then the owners of the homes started b-tching about the noise, safety etc,. Well DUHH you bought the home knowing it was there. I just looked online and see the battle is still raging and has been for over 30 years. They will likely eventually shut it down. i am pleased to see it is still open and functioning wink

Same thing happened here with Sunset Speedway (circle track) that had been there over 50 years. Along comes a developer, builds a bunch of house and the b-tching started. The track was shut down. It's all about the TAX $$$

Great idea up But once the ball starts rolling and the city sees the $$$$ signs t's hard to stop. You should suggest it to him, anyone near Reid Hillview should do the same beer

This, smart move firebird made. Great group of people. I call it my home track and it’s 8hrs from me. Drive there instead of Woodburn dragstrip which is only 45mins away.

This is one of those cases where the town or city doesn't do their job, they had their boundary set, it's agricultural land, there's something that's been there for 50+ years that they know will be an issue. They shouldn't be approving the housing. Yet all they see is the $$$$$$$ from taxes.

The same thing is happening around here. They are putting up condo buildings right left and center in areas that already have traffic issues. They are approving people splitting singe house properties to sell them as two houses even tho there are several variances needed to allow it to happen. One of the committe members is even vocal about it every time yet it never changes. They recently approved rezoning an industrial area for large condo towers then turned around and want the factories and businesses that are adjacent to it to spend millions of dollars to put up sound buffers and only work at certain times to not affect the dwellings next door that shouldn't be built there to begin with.

I sent an email , never been there , hope to someday .

But they are in an uphill battle , once the 4500 homeowners band together the tracks will eventually close.

A few months back he talked about selling the Ripsaw ...which hasn't sold yet ? .... for something big? He mentioned a group he's involved with trying to save the track , I imagine they were trying to buy that piece of land ?

running up my post count some more .

I am not rich...but I get off my ass everyday to make sure I am not broke!

Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.

That is his channel that he uses to get word out on stuff like this, he claims he gets better engagement for this type of thing there, and will eventually move the news over to his main channel. His main channel has over 3 million subs.

He quit law school when his Cleetus character took off. He is young, smart, and well funded. Same goes for Victor Alverez who owns the Drag Strip(evidently cleetus has some of that also). Victor is in his early 30s and has been kicking ass with that track. I wish those guys all the best. I sent my email.

Yep

I think the FL RE tax rate is 2% My guess the houses will more likely be about 450K which would bring in 40+million per year in tax revenue from RE taxes alone.

Then tack on sales tax from residences purchasing goods.

Say goodbye to the racetrack in the coming years.

Thankfully, National Trail Raceway is built in an area surrounded by flood plain, and without public water or sewer. That may help it survive residential encroachment. Maybe luck
