6 weeks is not too bad. But remember, you can bore the 4.25" block to 4.5", the sleeves OD and block ID are the same for both. Just thicker sleeves on the BMP "small bore" block.

I bought the 088515 block last year. It came with bushed lifter bores and a 4.490 bore.

Both Lifter and Piston bores have room to hone to fit with the 4.50 block. Not sure what the sleeves are made out of and I would rather Hone the sleeves for a piston fit than bore and hone them. Not in a super hurry so 6 weeks is not that far off.for me. I still have another option for a 572 another friend had FHO build one 10 years ago and never used it. A mild stireet motor World Block and Stage V heads but he is still undecided on what he is doing with it. The Michell block is 6 weeks away and Eddy Heads might be the same time away. Going to start looking into what is available for Crank, Rods and Pistons and see what is better to order a balance unit or one piece at a time. I do like the Callies Crank but it is not a cheap adventure.and likely is over kill for what I want to build.

Best machine took care of all the prep the block needed and will fit a 4.500 piston. Using Callies crank and rods also.

I am very close to ordering the Michells block. Since Tim at FHO has moved to Florida I was going to buy one of his raised cam blocks but it is over kill for what I want to do and now there is a machining price added and shipping and since I live in Canada have to deal with the Boarder into Canada and Duty and shipping across NA. I am not going to race this thing, those days are over as a weekend warrior and it might see the track just to see what it will turn in my Challenger in street form but will not be a regular at the track. If I was going to Drag Race again then the KB raised cam block would be the one of my choice if going racing with 1 inch lift cams and super high spring pressures using a Stage V race head. But this is going to be a big cube and really not that big only a 572 street fun motor.with a lot less cam shaft and spring pressure so I dont have to live under the hood every Monday to Friday.

I think you will find that the BMP unfinished "rough" bore will be around 4.490. I think you will find most machine shops would bore that closer to finish size before honing, rather than hone 0.010" out of them.

If I purshase the block it will be sent to the Machine Shop and run a Rattler down the bore for straightness and to find out what size piston I need to order and for balancing.

OK, you are going to order custom pistons.
