Car: 1975 Dart sport
Motor: Small block mopar
Intake: Weiand tunnel ram

Even if I leave off the fule lines which consume that area badly, it looks like I have not got enough room to get the distributor on the motor once I have primed it and am ready to get it running. Any secrets to this that I'm overlooking? I think even with the cap off, it'll be a tough job at hand. Once installed I know it fits, if I can get the cap in there too...

that wiper motor might have to come out. You sure dont want to force/bend anything

That is really tight. Looks like it is resting on the manifold and hitting the firewall. Have you tried going in from the side of the manifold? Maybe clear more of the wiring out of the way. What brand of distributor is that?

MSD distributor. I can fit it past the intake and firewall, but not an an angle but I'm not sure if it will fit it's way into the block such that I can get it into the oil pump drive's shaft. I know it was troubling to do this with just a RPM air-gap on there and it had only the firewall preventing it from lining up nicely.

I got a MSD dist with my tunnel ram. It was real tight. I got it in on the drivers side IIRC. Yes, It was with the cap off. It is very close to the intake and it fits but barely. Mine is on a 77 volare.

Distributor went in through the drive side with the fuel lines off the fuel rails. But I ended up haveing to put the cap in through tehpassenger side with a hbit of force to get it past the wiper motor. I had to remove the coil from it's home on the firewall to get access. It's all good now

does that thick A$$ plate come off? if not you might have to pull it and grind enough off. That MSD unit is huge.

The black plastic bottom plate of the MSD distributor can't really come off. I think you have to dissassemble the entire things to get at the screws that hold it to the aluminum body of the distributor. I think a smaller distributor would be great. It's in now so I'll run with it. This might be a bit of an incentive to finish up doing distributorless ignition control from my micro. Assuming I ever have to monkey with that every again.
