100% agree with you there. Vehicle sales are already in the toilet with the "average" sale price is north of 40k. What's going to happen when that doubles? Pretty sure the bulk of us who can't afford that stuff are just going to buy older vehicles. We're going to be the next Cuba with Packards and Studebakers still rolling around cobbled together with soviet diesel engines.

Uh??? What a confusing response. We're Mopar people here first of all. And those are your opinions as far as driving dynamics etc. Driving a V8 for me has nothing to do with bragging to anybody. I couldn't care less about that. It's about the sound, the feel, the flat torque curve and other things. Does your Craparo drive nicer?

Right. But how many items that are made specifically to be "Special Edition Collectors Items" wind up turning out not to be?
Like, how many times do people have to fall for that same old advertising ploy? How many people bought the "Special Edition, Triple 8-track Boxed set" right after Elvis died? Guaranteed to increase in value!
What are they worth today? Next to nothing.

It's all marketing bunk used to drum up a few extra sales. They probably needed another 2200 units sold to finally pay off all the stamping equipment needed to create the car. Which basically means 2200 people just got took.

Well they are a For Profit company, and marketing and advertising is key. I'd love to have one. It's a classy looking car IMO with lots of power, and probably suits those who would rather drive one of those than a Charger which has a more boy racer look. They want something that looks a bit more "elegant" I guess but still good performance, comfort, and power and don't want Beamer or Mercedes.

People have been asking and petitioning for the SRT 300 to return since 2015. I don't think any of these orders are because they've been duped into thinking it's going to be a valuable collectors item. It's a car, it's going to depreciate. Witness numerous examples over the decades, 1976 Cadillac convertibles anybody? Anniversary Corvettes? I do think a goodly number of these orders are speculative, looking for a quick flip / buck. I think they're going to be sorely disappointed.

So where's the red leather interior? They should've offered this from the get-go. I was working for the company that built the first 4 LH show cars for the1997 introduction lineup - WE built these cars from bodies-in-white: Interpid, LHS, Concorde, & the 300M. I got involved with the 300 right away, since I had owned a 79 300, plus being into all the old Mopar musclecars. I suggested to several people at Chrysler the badging should be the retro red/white/blue style, & the 300's should offer red leather interiors. They built the badging & we applied it & they did photoshoots with it. It never flew. We also never got red interior stuff to dress one out, so that fell on deaf ears. Now for the grand finale, we see vintage badging.

Well they did use a form of the old style red white blue logo on a special edition around 2009 or so. The interior colors and patterns have gotten nicer in the later ones including red leather but the first style ones only really had the wood trim differences to make them stand out.
