My younger son came back from his college dorm on Saturday not feeling well... tested positive on Saturday night... and is definitely sick; turns out there were some known cases on a different floor of his dorm, but not his

My daughter started feeling sick last night and tested positive this morning

My wife's not feeling well, but she tested negative this morning

I'm the only one still feeling OK at this point and will wait until later (tonight? tomorrow?) to test myself; I'm the one w/ the health issues that should make me more susceptible to getting really sick if I contract it luck

Yes, we're all vaccinated and up to date on our boosters

Good luck. I hope everyone comes through it OK. It just seems like a crap shoot on who will get it bad. My wife had it over a year ago. She still doesn't have her taste and smell back completely. It's been pretty upsetting for her. She has always had head inflammation issues but found a combination of supplements to keep it under control. After Covid, her normal routine hasn't worked and she's struggling to find something that will let her feel good on a consistent basis.

Good Luck!!! I had my battle with it thanksgiving of 2021. I am still feeling effects to having it, some taste and smell issues and my muscles and joints ach more than they have ever. I am searching for the perfect supplement cocktails to help as well. the taste and smell thing drives me nuts. most of the time I force myself to eat and push thru the issues. covid is not fun for some.

Stay safe

Thank you

This is the general forum so I'll just say best wishes to all of you and I hope you are in a position to get lots of rest, maybe take some of the recommended vitamins (I believe C, and Magnesium, and chelated Zinc) along with whatever your Doc prescribes.

Never any skeptics in my house; I know 3 people who died from it in 2020 - 2021; there's another strong possibility in early 2020 before it all went haywire and really got people's attention

Just about everyone in my Family has had it. No one is vaxed. My Daughter and Son in Law both had it very minor at the beginning when it just started to get scary for everyone. When I had it. It felt like I had the flu for like 3 days but even after I felt better I still got very drained and tired easily for months afterwards. I can always mow my front yard, side yard, back yard, edge, weed wack etc from start to finish and then play in the garage all day after yard work. Not after Covid. I had to take several breaks and sit down and have a beverage while resting for several minutes during the yard work 4-5 times for several weeks. I am back to normal nowadays. I also knew 3 friends and coworkers that did die from it.

I had it a few months back. BAD!!! Ticks me off when people say "its nothing more than sniffles". I secretly hope those people get what I had.

This new strain, LUCKILY, doesn't attack the lungs but I had a fever and WICKED sore throat. I'm 60 and have strepp many times. This was another level. Soar throat is THE SIGN is the new B4/B5? variant.

It's a strange virus for sure. I've only tested once when I was around someone at work who was positive, and to my surprise I tested positive. Next day I had a bit of a sore throat for a few hours, but otherwise never felt any different than normal.

A family member almost died from it. She spent weeks in the hospital. She was not a believer until she got it. Good luck.

It's real alright - we have had it twice - first round was the original issue back in mid-Feb. 2020. I got it first - and was on a business trip that week - but "nobody in the US had it yet." Then we all got the Delta variant a little over a year ago - early Aug. 2021 - once again, I got it first. Started feeling lousy on Sunday, & by Friday I was starting to come out of it thankfully. By Sat, my wife & two daughters were coming down with it - thank God I was able to cook & keep after them, because they were down for the count for almost 10 days. We felt BAD with the Delta - really crappy. We have a pulse-ox meter & none of us dropped below 93 sat level thankfully. Three of us started taking 12mg. of Ivermectin for a couple days - it helped me very shortly after I took the first dose on Friday, & my wife started taking it too & she thought it helped her. My oldest daughter took it 2x & she felt it did not help her.

So what can you do now? Start taking either Quercetin or L-Lysene, AND take 50mg. of zinc each day. You should ALL start taking these supplements. Both Quercetin & L-Lysene are immune system boosters - and they open the cell walls for the zinc to get in & disable the virus. Check them out. Hope you are all feeling better soon.

my wife and i both have health issues.
she has COPD, and i have MS, along with peripheral nephropathy.
we have been VERY LUCKY [so far !] to have not gotten it. however, we take way more precautions than most, trying to avoid catching it.
that includes [the] extra vitamins as mentioned, plus [for better or worse] we have gotten all the vaccine shots to date.
also included is hand washing a bunch with disinfecting, anti-bacterial type of soaps.
being old, we don't go out much anyway, so i don't know if that helps or not............
all the precautions aside, if by chance we do get it, hopefully it won't kill either of us ! luck

If I may express a couple of opinions....anti-bacterial soaps are unnecessary. The goal is to wash away the virus, not to kill it and we the public are overusing the anti-bacterial products. Save them for when you don't have access to soap and water.

Secondly, while hand washing is definitely important, it all comes down to keeping your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth!!! This is where it will enter!!! up

It's a weird one for sure. I apparently had it back in 2020 as evidenced by an antibody test prior to surgery. You would have had to tell me when I had it because I had no clue. Neither the wife or I are vaccinated(and don't plan on it) and we have traveled both by car and plane in the last couple years.....Yellowstone,Vegas,Kentucky Derby, etc. I work at a tech college and have daily interaction with dozens of people....no masks, no social distancing......can't tell you when I last heard of a Covid case on campus. Currently the ONLY people we know that have contracted it.......are vaccinated......hmmmm. I wish the best to the OP....as I said ...it's a weird one!

Son seems to be on the upswing, if only that his sore throat isn't as bad as it was a couple of days ago

Daughter is in holding pattern; wondering how long she's going to be unable to compete w/ her cross-country team after this

Wife tested positive yesterday morning and is feeling like sh!t; currently on the way to doctor to see about available meds (possibly one of the ones someone mentioned above?)

I tested this morning and... still negative; also still feeling normal... well as "normal" as I ever feel, I suppose

shruggy

I recommend you all get on the Quercetin or L-Lysene, and zinc (if you haven't already). They are not medicines, & there is no downside to them - just good preventative measures. You'll get through this.

When my wife had it she was given azithromycin and another drug I don`t remember the name at the moment. She said it seemed to help her but she still says she hasn`t felt the same as before covid.

I have had it three times twice in the past 60 days. My first time was right at the beginning as was my wifes. Really no big deal flu best described it.Only one episode was of any significance and I still have a headaches two months later. Before anyone asks I have had the vaccines and they work great, NOT! My wife is in heathcare(anesthesia provider)and we tend to get anything and everything that affects the respiratory system. And of course he wears an N95 every day, guess they don't work so well either.
