I'm thinking about replacing mine as well due to wear. Mine is leather wrapped. Did they come from the factory with the leather or is this something that was done later?

Hi Steve, they never came from the factory with a leather wrap. It was done later in it's life.

The ebay link above for Dale's is a Grant wheel -- the one you DON'T want. The two listed on Dale's website for $189 are their own specific version they had made. One has satin spokes, the other chrome. These are the wheels that are supposedly the nicest original looking ones. Correct size too. They come with the horn adapter ring and center cap. After talking with them, I feel comfortable it will be exactly what I need for a good install. Should be here early next week. I'll post pics.

FYI -- a leather wrapped version is made and sold by the BE&A and PG Classics team. Looks good from the pics, but I haven't spoken to anyone with eyes on the target. Anyone installed one?

Until total honesty is on the table, we're not even talking about reality...

Just went to Dale's website and it lists 2 different Tuff Wheels for $179.55 each, not $89.

I too would like to put one in my 71 Charger to replace the stock wheel, which has three horn pads. What will I need to purchase in addition to the Tuff wheel to make a smooth install?

If you get the one Alan posted (Dales Cuda Shop ebay) then you will need a steering column adapter like this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/70-71-72-...sQ5fAccessories

And a horn switch with the adapter on it for the center cap which Dales Cuda Shop also has...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOPAR-TUF...sQ5fAccessories

That's it, you're ready to roll.

Dave

He said he was putting it in a 70 E Body in which case he does not need the adaptor and the horn button from his factory wheel should work, if not one from a 72-74 E Body will work.

Read what I quoted Alan...He's talking about a 71 Charger which is a B-body and will require the adapter. He will not be able to use anything from his old steering wheel.

Thanks for the info. I had heard conflicting opinions about that. I kinda like the leather wrap and can't imagine the vinyl/foam holding up to well under heavy use. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

I looked quick, but I didn't see anything for a 1971 b body.
Do I look too quick?
