He's a fake car person. Mopar has millions of real fans, yet they hire that guy and Vin Diesel that haven't the slightest clue to represent them.

He’s announcing to the absolute general public TV audience. The lowest common denominator.

If he said tor-red or Hemi-orange a majority of the listening audience would be left clueless.

Chris is more knowledge than that. He’s owned a coupe Mopars for almost 20 years.

He’ll come to our Mopar show…unannounced, no camera’s, no fanfare… He’s not on any of our mailing lists and we don’t do elaborate marketing. So he’s got his ear somewhat to the ground.

We don’t pander to him or advertise celebrity guest.

Chris Jacob's showing up on the mecum auction on know.and I didn't put up a link as I'm not good with computer stuff I don't pretend to be good with links as chris Jacob'pretends to be a mopar guy. lol.As far as him supporting you're show that's great.Theres a lot of serious mopar guys that could probably use his kind if money and Bleed Mopar but never get a chance.some of them have been on this board.

Sometimes it's just being put on the spot or being tongue-tied, and even Magnante has said some whoppers.
Chris and a slim brunette gal B-J uses are often way off the mark.
I still enjoy the car show; lots of cool stuff you don't see every day.
I record the programs and FF through stuff I'm not interested in.
I think 25% of Mecum's air time is commercials, anyway.

Can't stand the guy. I loved watching the work Foose and company did on Overhaulin' but sucked having to listen to Jacobs b.s.

Enjoy it because there will be five Chebbies in a row, then a Phord, Mercedes, another three Chebbies, two more Phords, then maybe another Mopar and repeat.

I had a great time with Foose and Chris Jacobs at Mopars at the Strip a decade ago, he is a genuine guy and of course says what he has to when on camera.

We just want people to be genuine when there on thec camera or with reg people that's the thing.

When I was at shows or in person or on radio shows what you see is what you get!

I’m sure he just has to say something to fill up the airtime. Seems to be a mopar fan that had a GTX. Could be a total Chevy tool on the mic so if he needs to compare mopar paint to something an average joe might relate to then I’m not gonna down the guy.

I like Chris Jacobs on the auctions, and watching Frank Mecum is a lot more entertaining than listening to Craig Jackson and Steve Davis berate their customers because the bids aren't high enough.

He’s not the die hard Mopar guy that’s going to spit out fender tag codes or radiator part number by muscle memory. I don’t think he pretends to be that.

You’ve been in the hobby long enough to know they are vast range of type of Mopar owners.

Now Magnante is someone with a lot of Mopar historical knowledge. And I’ve heard some goofy stuff and flat out mistakes from him on TV. And I know he knew the correct info for. . And people have their specialties and angles of the hobby that interest them. Magnante is more of a pre-66 guy. And not an OE resto type guy. But he’s one to know the complete history back to the 20’s. Whereas many “Mopar “Die Hards” completely laser focus on 68-70 cars with binders to everything else. Which is fine too.

You forgot the horde of vetts also. If you see more than two mopars on any of those auctions you are lucky. They had him as a Carlisle one year as the "Celebrity", I don't know who named him that. He's not one i would want to see there.


Aint that the truth! I always yell at the TV if it's so special why don't YOU bid on it! As for the announcers that walk around the cars April Rose gets my vote!

I wasn't saying I hate Jacobs. He may be a great person. IMO he's not a natural on TV hosting shows. Just my opinion. Comes across as a preppy who has to practice his routine. Foose is GREAT. Magnante also great. Just seem like naturals to me like the dudes on roadkill. Like guys I'd love to hang out with. Jacobs would probably want to go to fancy restaurant and probably gets his nails done

i get my nails "done" about every couple of weeks, when they start to catch on things..............
hack 'em off as close to the finger tip as i can get, then use a 2" 60 grit roloc disc, followed by a 2" 80 grit disc.
don't haft'a worry about grease under the nails much............

Lol. I do have to clip mine often to avoid the grease stuck under them.
