Dennispsalm91 OP mopar D Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 652 Florida	Anybody redyed their white door panels ect ? If so what paint brand did you use ? I looked into the Krylon dover, but isnt a great match to the seat color. I know sem has stuff for plastic and so does rustoleum

N9671X2 top fuel N Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 1,945 Grand Rapids MI	Those were black panels, car was coded white, originals were too flaky. The cap does look real creamy, but it is the most correct SEM color, very good match to the legendary colors.

Dennispsalm91 OP mopar D Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 652 Florida	I got a set of black panels, they were painted green. I used zylene and soaked the panel in a spot and it took the green paint off. So im gonna clean these and try the sem white.

Home depot use to have it but i heard they know sell a version thats not as strong. I got to thinking about before they had plastic dye paint, that people just used regular paint to change the colors of the panels. So i knew zylene would take the paint of the panels, and it worked. Will not harm the plastic. I store small amounts in plastic gallon juggs

I went to paint store yesterday and the girl was trying to match some sem to a sample i brought in. Man she had way too much brown in it. Im glad i found a color that will blend with the seats ect. Now i dont have to buy aftermarket panels.

Anonymous Unregistered A	I recently dyed some door panels and kick panels red using Duplicolor products. I got the panels perfectly clean with soap and water, used wax and grease remover and adhesion promotor they came out fantastic! I can't scratch the color off no matter how hard I tried! (I did an extra "test" door panel before doing my good pieces.

Dennispsalm91 OP mopar D Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 652 Florida	I called SEM and spoke with a tech, he said to use a adhesive promoter, but of course he suggested SEMs. When i got to the paint store, i asked for SEMs promoter, they didnt carry it. I was told it wasnt highly thought of, but they had the bulldog there. So im gonna go with that.

I want to paint the panels today-saturday. thanks I would do it on a flash coat if you use the clear. If you have the white to do a "safe coat" what does it matter if it's done in clear or white? I mean if it's given a extra coat in white or clear and gets a scuff through that coat it will still show white under it. Now if you get a deeper scuff it'll show the black through a extra coat of whatever you put on there. I would just get a good app. of the white and not worry too much about the clear.
