i was cleaning up the a/c lines for my challenger today and i noticed that they are a little rusty on the inside of the line.

now i took the lines off my car back in 94 and i didn't seal up the ends. now it's 09 and I'm putting them back on the car. I'm looking for the a/c to work and not have the lines on there for looks.

can the lines still be used? does something have to be done with them? or are they trash and should i look for others?

i know somebody will mention this,

yes the car in going through a full resto and i did replace EVERYTHING on the a/c system ,just not the lines.

thanks, Greg

If u have your lines off I would blow thru them with my air , and spray them out with carb cleaner, you do not want any particles of dirt or actually anything in the lines, so I would clean them extra good and make sure they a clear, replace with all new seal, make sure there is ref. oil in compressor, pump down and recharge system if your going back with r12 its expensive, but you can change it over to 134a, also I would definitly replace the dryer

thanks,

i already put in the new drier.

i changed my 70 newport to 134a and i think it works great.

i have those long brushes for cleaning out oil passages in a block. i guess i can use them to clean out the lines.

any recommendations for the 90 deg. bends in the lines?
