Looking for a shop that can work on my 9500 winch , that is located in western Indiana or eastern Illinois.
It is an off brand from Grand Rapids Industrial , I bought it a few years ago. Tried to call the company , but
I get no answer , so they may not be in business now. The problem is with the engage / free spool switch ,
it seems to have broken the ears off the switch and will not move correctly.

Probably isn't much available to fix it. Most of the time the load/free wheel parts are winch killing issues.
Is the switch electrical or mechanical?
Can you post pictures of the broken ear area? Maybe someone can suggest something that may buy you a little more operation time. Gene

WOW! 9500lbs with synthetic rope? Synthetic rope must have come a long way since the early days! How much does it stretch pulling 9500lbs?

Back in the early days of synthetic rope, a 3,000lbs load would just about stretch it to double the length a few time, then it broke. You were lucky to get 3-4 3,000lbs pulls from new synthetic rope. Gene
