So I have transported project cars with a few spider egg sacks before …. πŸ€”

This one I loaded yesterday has DOZENS
all underneath on the chassis …. πŸ™„

What type of spider πŸ•· do you think
laid these eggs ?

How much time before you think before
they might hatch ?

Why again am I hauling Spider Man’s Car ?

I have never seen so many β€œ fresh β€œ spider sacks before
underneath a vehicle that I have hauled.

It was kept in a garage for the past 50 years in Salem, Oregon.

It is a 1948 Chevrolet Woodie Wagon.

They will hatch when your asleep, then find their way into your house, then nest in your ears. DO NOT look up 'spider in ear' on youtube. You have been warned. runaway

Do you ever spray the vehicles or require the shipper to spray the vehicles to ensure there are no insects/pests being transported into parts of the country where these insects/snakes may not be native to?

I ask this because years ago a guy in Michigan received a car filled with scorpions and a snake not from our area. Just imagine a guy getting a car, pull it into his shop, and it has mice/rats that infest his shop.

Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.

I am the shipper.
I picked the car up yesterday.
I doubt the Seller knew of the spider eggs.

I guess the climate of Salem, Oregon combined with a
wood body car being kept in a garaged area for 50 years
has resulted in many generations of spiders having a permanent
home and a steady supply of food.

If it were me, I'd bet they'd never hatch and I'd make darn sure of it.
I WILL bet you that they're of the poisonous variety. A buddy of mine that used to work in pest control says that a spider that makes a nice web pattern is harmless. Those that make a web that's willy-nilly like that is poisonous. Rule of up

August is spider month here in Oregon. Not sure why but in August it is common to see lots and lots of spider webs out in the woods as well as baby spiders floating around in the air.

Is the car off your trailer yet? You may go out in the morning and find your whole rig engulfed in a huge spider web! shock

My first thought too. Those look to a lot like black widow egg sacs to me. A female usually has a group of about 10 different sacs they tend. The shaggy looking irregular web also screams widow species. A single spike is also a give away and I think I see one, but pic is a little fuzzy.

I brought a whole colony of them home to Iowa years ago after loading an old mid 70's short box Dodge home from Florida.

This was just one small portion of what I found. The entire truck was filled with sacks and mommas. a combination of the carwash, various insecticides, some starting fluid, and some fire (and some panicking because the fire was unintended) I think I got most of them.
