It looks very cool. But....

What happens when the acid leaches out, gets in the groundwater and the neighbors children end up with a catastrophic health problems? What if those kids were your grandchildren?

What happens when some municipality or county has to pay to clean up a toxic waste dump? Then it is just a taxpayer problem.

Give the guy some credit ... he probably already emptied it down the sewer.

It's amazing some of the things that where done during "hard times". I'm sure there's a lot of reference material there how the original batteries looked. Some may be worth more than their weight in lead.

I once had a house where the attic floor was made up of small boards stamped "Ford Motor Co."

Great anti radiation room... shruggy

Lead shielding refers to the use of lead as a form of radiation protection to shield people or objects from radiation so as to reduce the effective dose. Lead can effectively attenuate certain kinds of radiation because of its high density and high atomic number; principally, it is effective at stopping gamma rays and x-rays.

Ive installed lead lined drywall in a commercial project before, why not.

'Years ago' most everything made sense. I used to change oil on my 74 Vega and take the drain pan over to the culvert and dump it. My dad did the same on the other various cars they had. Many times years ago I would flush the coolant system and just let it wash down the driveway and out to the field. Then and now that house has well water. Maybe that's why the water at my moms house tastes so much better than the city water I have now? Living in the 'lead battery house' I bet any man has pea sized balls and no hair do to the lead. shruggy

Those batteries look really old. I'm thinking someone did that back in the 50's when the cold war with the USSR was going on and they were paranoid of getting nuked.

growing up around depression era grand parents and uncles, you would be surprised at what was used for "purposes unintended".
and i'm sure that's where i got my hoarding instinct as well as looking at things thinking "i wonder what i could make out of that/those?"

Are they still under warranty?

I guess storing batteries on concrete was never this owners concern?

You have to admit, he's got a big "jump" on the material shortage issue.

Are those batteries in series, or parallel?

Hope this guy wasn't into "D" cells.

drumhit

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
