If so, who makes an affordable roller rocker setup for the Big Blocmopar?

I have never seen them before, but they look OK? at least they have the bronze bushings, something Comp should have had in their stainless rockers.

the adjusters are cupped not ball and are crazy junk will break for sure, replace with smith bros and you will be fine for non roller setups

Comp doesn't make stainless rockers.

Then who makes an AFFORDABLE adjustable roller rocker setup?

This is for a street-strip engine. Not an all out race motor.

Define AFFORDABLE ??? you get what you pay for ? pay now pay later ...

What's cheaper , 600 bucks for a set of rockers or 3k-6k for a NEW ENGINE after your CCJ rockers has the roller wheel spindle break and the rocker body pops the valve locks off and the valve drops into your cylinder ????

and this HAS HAPPENED ...

street strip car ... Crane DUCTILES ...

I agree with above statement. I am building an affordable street/strip engine, I have good parts I have saved up for, and m doing the same on my rockers. My feelings are why spend money on good bottom end components when if you skimp on the top end and those "cheap" parts fail, your "GOOD" parts will feel the brunt of the money you "saved". If it doesnt have to be done right at this very moment, wait!!! save up, and do it the correct way the first time. Harland Sharp, or something of that nature. Even if you spend 2 times what you wanted, thats only another 3-400 bucks. A whole lot cheaper than new pistons, machine work, valves, springs, and again a new set of good rockers that you should have bought in the first place.

Sure seems like there should be a market for the nodular rocker arms but Erson stopped selling them, Isky dropped them and now Crane is gone. I still think the old Isky nodular was the best rocker arm for most street/strip Mopar big block motors. Those rocker arms worked just fine for flat tappet or small roller cams up to about .650 lift.

The RAS investment cast arms are vastly superior but cost about double what the nodular arms used to cost. Guess RAS will own this market by default if Crane doesn't get back into business. Last I heard was that Scorpion was going to be buying up some (all?) of the Crane business.

Maybe we'll start to get Mopar rocker arms from Scorpion? They do have a pretty good reputation for their Ford rocker arms so that might not be all bad.

As for the original question: Yes, all cheap rocker arm kits on ebay are junk. Use at your own risk.

There were some adjustable Crane ductile iron non roller rockers that I usd to have on an old 440. They seemed to work fine.

Im asking because I want a set for using with a hydraulic cam and anti pump hyd lifters.

Its for a friend, not for me, he doesnt really want to spend much.

If not, Ill just use the regular hyd lifters with the stamped factory rockers.

All stainless rockers on hardend shaft's are a bad idea . junk!!!! I learned the hard way, dont go cheap on shaft's and rockers. The best value is from Hughes engines $460.00 comes with grooved shaft's .....they have some great tech info on stainless rockers and the bad things that can go wrong.......my stroker low deck , with 600 lift ate those rockers up...they lasted about 3mins till they welded themselves (gaulding) to the shafts. Those ebay rockers are bushed to help stop gaulding.....they might live at low to stock lifts, but why take a chance???
