I have a 10.5" clutch/flywheel in the small block '70 Cuda.

I have what I think must be a 11" clutch flywheel in the '70 383 Super Bee.

If I went with an 18 spline OD gearset from Passon's, I would need at least a new clutch disk (18 v. 23 spline), maybe even a whole new assembly. Would I need a bigger flywheel?

I am assuming the clutch from my Bee will not work in my Cuda as it stands because it is an 11". Am I right?

In the Super Bee, if I decided to go with a Passon's OD unit, could I just swap the Centerforce disk for an 18 spline disk and not have to worry about the rest of the assembly (new)?

It may seem like I am all over the place, but my wheels are turning.

Pretty sure your 11" flywheel will not work in your small block bellhousing. Just use the 10.5" flywheel and clutch with an 18 spline trans.

Of course, the 18 spline trans may have a larger input bearing retainer than your 23 spline trans so the 18 spline trans may not fit in your small block bell housing...

He has an adapter for that.

You just change the clutch disc and throwout bearing to the 18 spline. I recommend changing the pressure plate too because the disc usually gets "matched" to the plate after use. We can provide a 10.95" Mcleod clutch package for you that bolts to your small block 10.5" flywheel. We also would provide an 18 spline bearing retainer that will bolt to your small bearing transmission case to fit into your small block bellhousing.

Thanks Jamie. It killed me earlier this week after the months of waiting to decline one of the gear sets. It is just hard to justify two gear sets with all the economic uncertainty... and if it is between an OD gearset in the Cuda vs. the Bee, I am going to put one in the Bee.

BUT... the Cuda needs a new clutch regardless, so it would be a good time to make the move with it. The bummer is that the Bee has a brand new clutch in it that I am just not going to need no matter how you look at it.

I am still thinking on it.
