I started with a 1970 340 car which was in much worse shape than I imagined once I started getting into it. While I was working on the '70. I found a '73 Scamp which had been completely media blasted and was sold to me bare metal. The Scamp had no trim pieces at all, it was just a stripped rolling chassis. The '70 had all the pieces I needed to make the Scamp work. I like the style of the Dart's front end much better than the Scamp's so I'm building the Scamp as a Dart.

Specs include:

Indymaxx low deck block
440 Source 512 CI rotating assembly with I-beam rods, ARP 2000 bolts and +14 domed pistons.
440 Source Stealth Heads and valve covers
Crane Solid Roller Cam, Lifters, Springs, Retainers and Locks
Hughes cryogenic treated roller rockers
Milodon Cam Gear Drive
Milodon single pickup oil pump and low profile pan
Hooker Super Comp Headers
MSD Pro Billet Dist
Alston 14 Point Cage
Will be running a 727 - haven't picked up a tranny or converter yet
Strange S60 35 spline, with spool and Strange disc brakes
Centerline Warrior 15x10 and 15x4 wheels
Phoenix 28x10.5-15 slicks
MT front drag tires
Wilwood front calipers on 11.75 Mopar rotors.
Magnum Force double adjustable heim joint A-arms
Firmfeel quick ratio pitman and idler arms
Stock manual steering box rebuilt by Benchworks

Engine is now at the machine shop getting assembled.

I hope to have this complete by the end of 2009.

I'm going with red and a black vinyl top. Same as on my first car.

Updates...

I hate bodywork

At least it's closer after this application of primer than it was last time. There are a few small spots I missed which need to be worked out, then the car gets block sanded and hit with another round of high build primer hopefully just one more time before paint.

Now that the vast majority of the fab work is done I will be concentrating solely on getting the body to where it needs to be.

Just dropped a couple things off at the machine shop today and grabbed some pics:

You can see the heads behind the engine on the floor.

Finished plumbing the fire extinguisher system and I also installed the battery cutoff switch:

Started the under hood plumbing. I HATE working with stainless steel hose

I built a drawer which will hold all of the cars electronics. Thanks to Qwiktree @ Moparts for the idea.
