Not aware of any regs for an engine dipstick. Most people don't use one at that point.

Locking trans dipstick required - 10.99 and quicker.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I use a stock oil dip stick and tube on my S/P car, it does have the required locking trans dip stick also up
I've race that car since 2013 at a bunch of different NHRA tracks that way and I have never got ask about the stock engine oil dip stick and tube, they have check the trans dip stick also thumbs
I now remove the dip stick and put a sleeve rubber end over the upper end of tube and clamp it with a small hose clamp to help stop the air leaks from the motor through the stock dip stick with the vacuum pump. I will remove the plug and check the oil level before racing it around every fourth race or so to make sure there is oil on the dip stick tip wrench up

Made by Masta Performance. Sold by many trans companies and mail orders.

Thanks guys, I had thought about doing the same thing with the engine dipstick that Cab had mentioned, but wasn't sure if it was accepted. Thanks, Bill

Tech has never looked at my engine dipstick... I have an ATI locking plug for the trans and keep the dip stick in the trailer for checking the fluid level. Late last year the handle on the plug broke so for a week or so I ran just the dip stick wouldn't you know it that's when the tech guy at my home track noticed it .. naturally I replaced it with a new locking plug.

In a pinch I have passed NHRA tech with a Lokar trans dipstick with the handle safety wired to the mounting bracket. He looked at it, gave it a tug and moved on.

Unfortunately Masta’s website is down. I’m looking for their 8410-8 locking dipstick.

Looks like the website is up now, however I don't see that they sell direct.

I have been in touch with him via emails this morning. What I’m hoping to find is a locking cap that fits the Lokar tube.
