All diesel is the same, #2 ultra low sulfer, all DEF is the same. There are different kinds of diesel, but anything you buy at a typical pump is ULS...

Rhino has it, all diesel at the pump now is ULSD. You can buy biodiesel blends at some pumps but it's all still ultra low sulfur. In winter the blend will be different as well, it'll typically get anti-gelling additives and has a higher cetane rating.
All DEF is supposed to be the same, it's 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water. I think PEAK has come out recently with a version of DEF that may have additives in it, but it may just be a marketing gimmick.

I assume with a lease, that it's doubtful the warranty will run out before the lease ends so one shouldn't fear that.
But otherwise yes, run from diesels in general. Sadly the complexity of emission control systems they have had to install on them has screwed up what was a good thing,
I have a friend who is head mechanic for a construction services company and he told me they are buying gas in their trucks now whenever they can because of wanting to avoid all the diesel problems they have been having, At least with their medium duty trucks in their fleet they are happy to deal with them being a bit underpowered with gas in exchange for far less mechanical problems then if they continued to buy diesel. Of course with class 8 and severe service trucks in their fleet they are still stuck with diesel. I remember him telling me about a debate he was having with management at a meeting where they wanted to replace some older pre-2010 emission trucks and he was telling them keep them as long as possible as they are so reliable and therefore worth their weight in gold. Not to mention you could likely put a long block in a gas motor for the cost of just fuel injectors in a late model diesel.

I hope the Emissions Equipment Warranty runs for the entire term of the lease.
If you haven't already signed the lease, I would run Forrest, run from that engine. Zero longterm reliability.

When I ran the city vehicle fleet, it included handicap/transit busses, E450s. These busses arrive and run 250k miles in 5 years without leaving the city limits of a 35 square mile city. I always joked that we should replace the accelerator and brake pedals with a toggle switch that had WOT on one side and ABS on the other, with no neutral We went from bulletproof 7.3L's to 6.0's. At 100k the 6.0's needed an average of $8k into the motor, Same again at 175k, and needed it again when we got rid of them at 250K. I threatened and cajoled them to go with 3 V10's and showed how much they saved in maintenance costs, and we switched the entire fleet.
