Thanks Ron! It only ran a 31, I put the 29 on the window expecting it to hook a little better given the tire pressure change and a better burnout.

Sounds like it is right where the previous owner left off. The sixty foot was better than I expected with tire spin. The 2.77 gear can improve 60 ft, but make it harder to hook. For bracket racing with leaf springs and the 493 CID, I would pick the regular 2.45 1st gear.

Where did you start with the shocks? Wouldn't it help the unloading if you stiffened the extension on the Ranchos?
