I tried posting this in the Q&A section but got no results.

I'm sure someone has one of these horns on their car(s) and can help me identify what year it's for.

The horn on the right has "239" stamped on it but I can't find a date code for the one on the left.

Does the 239 mean early June 1969? If so is the long bracket correct for this horn?
How bout the horn with short bracket and no date code?

I have always had the understanding that the 239 date is 23th week of and the 9 is 69. The bracket for that horn is incorrect.
The othet horn has the 71-74 bracket and may be a replaement if no date is found. The late replacement/repos have two welds on the nub. I can't tell if yous has it due to the paint.

Never seen the bracket on the horn on the right before. I agree the the one on the left is the later 71-74 style.

Which bracket should it have? What does it look like?

Where would the welds be?
What's the nub?
Is the date code always in the same place or is it randomly stamped on the top side?

Thanks

spot wels would be where I marked it. There would be two one on each side. The correct 68-70 bracket looks like the 71-74 but is longer from the 90 bend to the bolt hole and the bolt hole is not threaded as the threaded boss is attached to the radiator support.
Date codes as far as I have seen are always in the same general area.

Okayyy... is this considered a spot weld?
I'm guessin so but wasn't sure, there is one on the other side also, it's got an _ish load of undercoating all over it.

Here's another look at the funky bracket.
Any idea what it belongs on?

Never seen anything like that bracket. My guess is it home made.
